MY PERENNIAL PLANTAIN (Musa basjoo) in the Maspeth backyard comes back every year to provide leaves for our inihaw na bangus and maruya (not the seed-laden fruits). This one is ready to fruit and drop its talisman, and I assume its heart can also be shredded for Mindoro kare-kare.
